Postlab 2.0 + Nuvon Drive: Seamless Collaboration for Editors

Editing teams today face a constant challenge: how do you collaborate on massive projects without overwriting each other’s work, choking your office internet, or relying on consumer-grade sync tools?
With Postlab 2.0 and Nuvon Drive, that problem is solved. In our latest demo, we show how two Macs—sitting side by side, but just as easily on opposite sides of the world—can share Final Cut Pro libraries, events, media, and music with speed and reliability.
Why Postlab + Nuvon Drive Just Works
Postlab is designed for creative teams. It manages libraries, locks projects when in use, and keeps everyone in sync without messy manual coordination. Pair it with Nuvon Drive, and you gain:
- Hybrid workflows – Keep a Synology server in your studio for ultra-fast local access, while Nuvon Drive handles remote collaboration through the cloud.
- On-demand sync – Pin or download only the files you need, saving bandwidth and disk space.
- Real speed – We tested syncing a 2.45 GB file, and it was ready to edit in seconds.
The Demo Setup
In the video, I work with two Macs: a MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro. Both connect to the same Postlab team folder hosted on Nuvon Drive.
- I create a new team bundle on the Air.
- The Pro instantly sees it, I set it to download the necessary media, and locks the Final Cut events when in use.
- New events, music folders, and media files sync within seconds.
- When I save and close the project on one machine, it becomes available and editable on the other.
The result? A smooth handoff between systems that feels local, even though the data is moving through the cloud.
Why This Matters for Creative Teams
Traditional cloud sync tools weren’t built for HUGE media. They:
- Serve too many people across the world and have no issues throttling your download/upload. Some will have daily traffic limits, others will limit your speed to 10MB/s. Nuvon doesn't do that, ever.
- Can’t handle real-time project locking, which Postlab 2.0 solves when using in conjunction with Nuvon Drive.
With Postlab on Nuvon Drive, you get infrastructure built for media. Whether your team is cutting a feature film, producing branded content, or running multiple client campaigns, this setup ensures your projects stay organized, synced, and safe.
Hybrid Cloud: The Best of Both Worlds
Many of our clients prefer a hybrid setup:
- Local Synology server in the office → fast transfers, LAN speed.
- Nuvon Drive in the cloud → global access, remote collaboration.
This means editors can work at full speed in the studio while remote collaborators have immediate access without clogging the office internet connection.
Human Support Included
Nuvon isn’t just infrastructure. Behind it is a team of real humans. When you need help, you don’t get bounced to a bot—you get an actual expert who understands creative workflows.
